I’m sharing a quick & easy recipe of Braised Ee Fu Noodles, it’s one of Lil K’s favourite & he calls it “T-shirt Noodles” 😅 because Ee Fu sounds like “clothing” in Mandarin.

So… Ee Fu = T-shirt, geddit? 😃😃😃

And of late, “flying noodles” seem to be very popular on social media! Since it’s the month of Halloween 👻👻, I thought it would be fun to trick my kids! I’m sharing the tutorial to create “flying noodles” at the end of this post.

Ingredients (1-2pax serving):

1pc Ee Fu Noodles

2 cloves Garlic, minced

1/4 boneless Chicken breast, sliced

3 Prawns,remove shell & slice half lengthwise

2 Crabsticks, cut into 8pcs

Carrot, julienned

Handful of Bunashimeiji mushroom

Coriander & Spring onion to garnish

Seasoning:

1/2tsp Sugar

1tsp Light Soy Sauce

1TBS Oyster Sauce

Dashes of Dark Soy Sauce

80ml Water

Method:

•In a separate bowl, lightly season chicken breast & prawns. A pinch of the seasoning will do,as this is a small portion.

Prawns➡️ Sugar,Salt,Cornflour

Chicken breast➡️ Sugar,Salt,Huadiao wine,Cornflour

•Put ee fu noodles in a bowl & pour boiling water over it. Let it soak for couple of mins, use a colander/strainer & drain away hot water.

•Heat a tablespoon of cooking oil, add garlic to sautéed. Add carrots, stir fry for a min.

•Add chicken breast & fry till meat turn white.

•Add in prawns & continue stir frying.

•Mix sugar, oyster sauce, light soy sauce together with 40ml of warm water. Pour into wok & stir well.

•Put ee fu noodles into wok, stir to mix with ingredients. Add dashes of dark soy sauce for colour.

•Add mushrooms, crabsticks & remaining 40ml of water. Mix well & cover to simmer for a few minutes. Adjust seasoning & water if needed.

•Garnish with spring onion & coriander.

I used half an apple instead as I didn’t want to waste a potato. I could rinse the apple after the trick & eat it!

1) Prepare a pair of disposable chopsticks, a small fork & half an apple.

2) Sprinkle n rub some salt onto the apple, to prevent oxidisation. This step is optional.

3) Pierce the chopsticks into the apple.

4) Position the fork through the top of the chopsticks. Use a fork that’s not too long/heavy, so that it won’t topple.

5) Place the apple in the middle of the serving dish. Bury the apple with noodles. Put some noodles on the fork & arrange the noodles to cover the exposed chopsticks.

6) Voila! Surprise your kids today! 😆
